Cover for planned hospital admissions<\/h1>\n<h2>Before you go to hospital for any planned procedure, you must:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>See your doctor<\/li>\n<li>Check whether your specialist participates in a payment arrangement<\/li>\n<li>Call us on <strong>0860 99 88 77<\/strong> to confirm your hospital admission <strong>at least 48 hours before you go to hospital<\/strong>. If you do not confirm your admission, we will only pay 70% of the costs that we would normally cover.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>When you contact us, give us the following details:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Your Discovery Health membership number<\/li>\n<li>When you will be admitted to hospital and how long you will stay<\/li>\n<li>The date of the procedure<\/li>\n<li>The name of the hospital or clinic<\/li>\n<li>Your treating doctor\u2019s name, practice number and phone number<\/li>\n<li>Your diagnosis (ask your doctor for the ICD-10 diagnosis code)<\/li>\n<li>The procedure name (ask your doctor for the CPT or RPL procedure codes).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If one of your dependants is admitted, give us their details.<\/p>\n<h1>2. Cover for medicine<\/h1>\n<p>Discovery Health covers medicine either from the Chronic Illness Benefit or from your day-to-day benefits, where applicable.<\/p>\n<h2>Chronic medicine<\/h2>\n<p>This is medicine that you need to take on a daily basis over a long period of time.
