Code of Ethics<\/strong><\/p>\n Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n All parties contemplating any contact with\u00a0Liberty Holdings Limited or any of its subsidiaries are entitled to know in advance its ethical and moral attitudes to conducting business. This Code attempts to provide this information as simply as possible.<\/p>\n Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n This code applies to the\u00a0Liberty Holdings Limited or any of its subsidiaries\u00a0South African and international business activities.<\/p>\n Application<\/strong><\/p>\n All business entities of Liberty Holdings Limited or any of its subsidiaries –\u00a0its directors, officers, employees and direct representatives are expected to abide by this Code.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Liverty Values<\/strong><\/p>\n – Always passionate, positive,professional and having fun.<\/p>\n –\u00a0Maintain open channels of communication that encourage freedom of expression.<\/p>\n – Interacting with respect and integrity, by being honest, trustworthy and transparent.<\/p>\n – Working together to achieve common goals.<\/p>\n – Taking responsibility for our attitudes, actions and development.<\/p>\n – Providing excellent customer service, from end to end, all the time.<\/p>\n – Creating a culture of sharing knowledge and expertise.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our approach to business ethics<\/strong><\/p>\n We will operate and compete in accordance with the principles of free enterprise. Free enterprise is, however, constrained by observance of the law, and by generally accepted principles governing ethical behaviour in business.\u00a0 Ethical behaviour is founded on the concept of utmost good faith, and characterised by integrity and reliability.\u00a0 Ethical business transactions will benefit all relevant parties by a fair exchange of value or satisfaction of need. We will strive at all times to fulfil these obligations.<\/p>\n Our Obligations<\/strong><\/p>\n We recognise that we have a number of obligations towards various stakeholders. We also recognise that at times our obligations towards different parties may conflict, and that it is our responsibility to seek appropriate harmony and balance between the parties\u2019 interests.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To the State, we will:<\/span><\/p>\n – Obey the law.<\/p>\n – Cooperate with all supervisory and regulatory bodies duly appointed for our industries.<\/p>\n – Contribute to the development of the nation and its people, and cooperate with any reasonable government initiative that has this aim.<\/p>\n – Exercise judiciously any power or influence which we hold.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To our Clients, we will:<\/span><\/p>\n – Honour our contractual obligations.<\/p>\n – Develop long-term business relationships.<\/p>\n – Train employees and representatives to be proficient and professional.<\/p>\n – Deal with our clients in mutual confidence, and ensure that access to confidential information is appropriately restricted.<\/p>\n – Provide and participate in effective mechanisms to resolve any disputes or difficulties.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To the Shareholders, we will:<\/span><\/p>\n – Acknowledge our shareholders\u2019 entitlement to a reasonable return on their investment.<\/p>\n – Communicate with shareholders regularly, clearly and honestly.<\/p>\n – Safeguard the business and its assets. We fully subscribe to the principles of sound corporate governance and zero tolerance. We will apply appropriate internal operating and financial controls.<\/p>\n – Cultivate a positive public image founded on truth and fairness.<\/p>\n To our Employees, we will:<\/p>\n – Treat our employees with due dignity, respect and courtesy.<\/p>\n – Not discriminate unfairly on the grounds of race, gender, sex, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, religion, conscience, belief, political opinion, culture, language or family responsibility.<\/p>\n
