Our achievements

The company has a proud pioneering record. We were first to:

  • Introduce a “cooling-off” period;
  • Pay a major portion of any death claim immediately to assist with funeral expenses;
  • Introduce wider family cover;
  • Offer a Burial Repatriation Benefit, which transports the deceased (if covered) to a funeral home of choice, near the place of burial anywhere in SA.
  • Introduce free legal advice;
  • As a listed insurance company, become majority-owned by shareholders representing the black community;
  • Remove HIV/Aids exclusions and limitations on all existing and new policies; and
  • Develop a funeral solution with a survivor plan in 2007 – this pays out money to clients for taking good care of their health and staying alive.

 

Employment Equity

Sanlam Sky Solutions believes that Employment Equity is the right response to help remove historical employment imbalances. The Employment Equity Act of 1998 is helping us to achieve an environment which is free from the discriminatory barriers of the past.
