Health Card
OVERVIEW:
The HealthCard is a Visa Electronic Debit Card issued by Mercantile Bank Limited and can be used to purchase goods and services at any medical service provider who has a point of sale terminal facility.
The HealthCard enables any person over the age of 18 regardless if they belong to any medicalto pay for out of hospital medical services.
At the same time it attempts to empower medical scheme members to take ownership of their medical expenses and to carefully consider how to use their benefits.
BENEFITS:
Provisions can be made to save for medical scheme shortfalls and co-payments and goods or services not covered by your medical scheme.
Facilitates immediate payment to Medical Service Providers for goods and services.
Use of the card is far safer and more convenient than carrying cash.
Market related interest is earned on credit balances·Stand alone product – not controlled by the Medical Scheme Act.
COSTS:
Annual card fee R 50 per account
Card issue / replacement fee R 50
Transaction fee R 4.50 per transaction
Rejected debit order fee R 40 per rejection
Quarterly statement fee R 5 per quarter
